Hong Kong racing's newest fan: Alex Ferguson

Legendary former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson's co-owned horse Spirit Dancer may have finished unplaced in the Hong Kong Cup but the first-time visitor left impressed by the Longines Hong Kong International Races.

"We have one very important new Hong Kong racing fan," HKJC CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges said. "Sir Alex was absolutely enthused with Hong Kong racing and what he saw. He promised me he would come back. This meeting attracts a global audience and global recognition. This event makes Hong Kong proud."
